Intro
The Ghardaïa Carpet Festival is a five-day national craft fair held every March in Ghardaïa, in the M'Zab Valley of the Algerian Sahara. Established in the 1960s, it celebrates the hand-knotted carpets woven by Mozabite women, whose geometric patterns carry local meaning. Weavers from across Algeria compete for prizes, while a carpet-decorated float parade, Karkabou music, and food stalls fill the town
