MORE INFO
The Cooper's Hill Cheese-Rolling and Wake is an eccentric, annual English tradition where competitors chase a 4-kilogram wheel of Double Gloucester cheese down an incredibly steep, 180-metre hill in Brockworth, Gloucestershire. The cheese, which can reach speeds of up to 110 kilometres per hour, is nearly impossible to catch, making the most famous attraction the chaotic, tumbling race itself: a spectacle of daring participants hurtling and bouncing uncontrollably down the near-vertical slope in pursuit of the coveted dairy prize. The first person to cross the finish line at the bottom wins the cheese.
