Guca Trumpet Festival

The Guca Trumpet Festival, officially known as the Dragačevo Assembly of Trumpeters, is a traditional Balkan brass music gathering held every August in the town of Guča, where over 3,000 musicians and premier orchestras compete for the prestigious Golden Trumpet award.
Alongside the official competitions, the festival thrives on spontaneous street-side mentorship sessions, where veteran masters pass down distinct regional brass melodies and traditional instrumentation techniques to younger generations.
This raw musical feast fuels a massive open-air party, where hundreds of thousands of visitors dance until dawn, accompanied by roaming brass bands, traditional local food like wedding cabbage and roasted meats, and, of course, heavy flows of local drinks.

• The Golden Trumpet (Zlatna Truba) Competition: The main event at the stadium where Serbia’s top orchestras clash in intense, high-energy musical battles to win the ultimate industry title.

• Street Jam Sessions & Mentorship: Spontaneous brass bands blasting music on every corner, where you can watch veteran masters pass down fast folk melodies to young players right in the middle of the crowd.

• Kolo and Čoček Dancing: Non-stop, wild open-air dancing inside and outside local kafanas (taverns), where hundreds of thousands of international visitors join hands in traditional energetic circle dances until dawn.

• The Wedding Cabbage (Svadbarski Kupus) Feast: Street-side food stalls where you can eat slow-cooked cabbage and roasted meats prepared in massive traditional clay pots over open wood fires.
