Abu Simbel festival is a 3000 years old event that takes place at the spectacular temple of Ramses II. The temple interior is normally dark, but twice a year the sun aligns perfectly to illuminate the inner statues of Ra (the sun god) and Amun (the king of the gods). Only Ptah, the god of darkness, remains in the shadow. This happens each year on 22nd of February and 22nd of October which are believed to be the king’s birthday and coronation day.

Hi! I am Ciprian.

I love to explore the world and so I found that any worthwhile trip needs a rock-solid plan. One built around clear trip goals and based on simple and practical info.

Well, that info already exists but it is spread in too many places. My long term goal is to bring it here. Not all. Just the minimum you need to plan the trip that really meets your expectations.
