Mardi Gras (or Fat Tuesday) is the culmination festivity that marks the end of the carnival season in Catholic communities. It reflects the practice of a last night of eating rich and having fun before the Easter fasting season. The celebrations include many balls, parties, and parades with floats and costumed dancers, all of them organized by local social clubs called Krewes. The spectators are welcomed with beads and coins thrown on them from the parades or from the streets balconies.

Before planning to attend Mardi Gras, you might want to know that they are having a lot of other parades before Mardi Gras day. For more details about them, please click here.

Hi! I am Ciprian.

I love to explore the world and so I found that any worthwhile trip needs a rock-solid plan. One built around clear trip goals and based on simple and practical info.

Well, that info already exists but it is spread in too many places. My long term goal is to bring it here. Not all. Just the minimum you need to plan the trip that really meets your expectations.
